SPEAKEASY Dinner Dance

February 2018

MC PLAN & SITE SERVICES' SPEAKEASY

HUNDREDS of pounds were raised for charity at the annual MC Plan & Site Services party last month.

The honoured guests were a mix of property developers, construction companies, architects, surveyors, financiers and companies associated with property and construction, with whom MC Plan & Site Services work on a regular basis.

A 1920s themed extravaganza was held at the Italian Villa in Poole and over 185 guests were treated to a three course meal catered by Beales, and a Bublé tribute singer during the dinner.

Throughout the meal, a 1920s themed quiz entertained the diners and a collection was taken for the two charities nominated by directors, Mark and Helen Cook.

The evening concluded with guests being entertained by a live band.  Mark said: "We were delighted with the turnout and the generosity of our guests.

"It may have been dry January for some of our guests, but they took the night off at the MC Speakeasy so no prohibition in sight!" he added.

The selected charities are YoungMinds - the UK's leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of young people - and End Youth Homelessness.

Helen said: "Five years ago, the Duke of Cambridge challenged Centrepoint to end youth homelessness nationally.  Centrepoint knew this was a tall order so they joined forces with homeless charities across the UK and 'End Youth Homelessness' was born.

Helen added: "At MC Plan & Site Services we deal with people's homes on a daily basis.  I also work with vulnerable children, so both these charities are close to Mark's heart and mine."

The dancing girls at last year's party were replaced with gold fringed Flapper-girls - a staple of the 1920s - to take the drinks orders, whilst the Villa's waiting staff all sported natty pin-striped hats.

Bradley Cheer from ARC Architects said: "It was great to see so many of our contemporaries all having such a fabulous time and all in such good causes.  Thank you to Mark, Helen and the MC team for inviting us all and putting on such a lavish event. I can't imagine what they'll do next year!"

Mark added: "As MC goes from strength to strength, we wanted to say a big thank you to our clients and suppliers who continue to make MC Plan & Site Services the success it is today."
